How to examine in both directions the relationship between art and philosophy? What does philosophy have to say about art? What does philosophy have to say to art?
AOP seeks to provide new insight on the relationship between art and philosophy since the 1950s. It investigates artists' relationships with philosophy, from the artschool to the studio. This book is intended for students, artists, philosophers, and (more generally) all the art enthusiasts who wish to have a clear vision of what the relationships between art and philosophy are and what they will become as significant changes occur within contemporary art. It includes interviews with many of the leading artists of today, such as Camille Norment, Julian Charriere,  Ian Cheng, Timur Si-Qin, Jon Rafman, and more, and interviews with philosophers teaching in arts schools, such as Agnès Gayraud or Graham Harman.
Wilfried Laforge is an art theorist. He teaches aesthetics at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.

His work examines the relationship between art and philosophy, with a particular focus on the legacy of critical theory. Drawing on the late writings of Theodor W. Adorno, his research offers a critical rethinking of contemporary art and of the ongoing transformation of aesthetics since the second half of the twentieth century. His work addresses questions of artistic autonomy, form, and critical experience, while engaging closely with practices and debates in contemporary art.
